K9 Division

Highly Trained Teams, Unmatched Dedication

The K9 Division of the Highland County Sheriff’s Office plays a vital role in law enforcement operations across the county. Our K9 teams are certified by the State of Ohio and specially trained to assist with drug detection, tracking suspects or missing persons, article searches, building clearances, and officer protection. These highly skilled canine units strengthen our ability to keep the community safe while supporting patrol deputies during high-risk situations.

Each K9 is paired with a certified handler who received their training from Southern Ohio Police Canine and trains regularly to maintain peak performance. These teams operate with professionalism, precision, and a deep bond of trust—making them an essential part of the Sheriff’s Office.

The K9 Division also participates in community outreach, including school demonstrations and public safety events, helping foster stronger relationships between law enforcement and Highland County residents.
