The Civil Process Division of the Highland County Sheriff's Office is responsible for serving and processing a wide range of civil and legal documents throughout Highland County. Our staff ensures these services are completed accurately and in compliance with Ohio laws and court mandates. From foreclosure auctions to background checks, we are committed to professionalism, transparency, and public service.

Our services Include:

  • Foreclosure Sales – The Sheriff's Office conducts foreclosure auctions as ordered by the Highland County courts. We provide complete instructions for bidders, schedules for upcoming sales, and information on auction procedures to help ensure a smooth and lawful process.
  • Court Document Services – The Civil Unit serves a wide range of court-issued documents including subpoenas, summonses, complaints, and civil protection orders. Information regarding document service fees, submission requirements, and service timelines is available through our office.
  • Background Checks – The Civil Process Division performs local background checks upon request. These are typically used for employment, housing, or licensing purposes. Download the appropiate request and return it to the Sheriff's Office, for CCW requests or BCI/FBI requests applicable fees may apply.
