Highland County Sheriff’s Office implements the use of

WebCheck for fingerprint background checks 

WebCheck is an Internet-based program for civilian background checks.  WebCheck uses the Internet to electronically transfer fingerprints and other data from inquiring agencies to the Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation (BCI&I).   The person requesting a background check can have the results mailed to the agency requiring the background check.  Normally within two business days, the school or daycare center will receive the results of the background check requested.  At no time are the results of the criminal history background check sent over the Internet.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office also offers National WebCheck, which additionally processes the fingerprints against the criminal history database of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Hours:  Monday-Friday    8:30AM-4:00 P.M.

             NOTE-The Saturday hours are delayed until further notice.

Cost:   BCI&I only  $20.00       FBI only  $30.00     Both:  $50.00

Payment is required at time of background check and may be made by cash, check, or money order.

**For any large groups or a person who needs the background check immediately and cannot come during our normal hours, call Sgt. Donald Walker of the Civil Division to see about making arrangements at other times for the background check.
